Dewan Rakyat passes Police (Amendment) Bill 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — The Dewan Rakyat today passed the Police (Amendment) Bill 2024, which among others include appointing the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Honourary Commissioner-in-Chief of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Agong to be honorary chief commissioner of police under proposed amendments

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 — Amendments to the Police Act 1967 (Act 344) will involve changes to 10 clauses, including the insertion of a new Section 6A stipulating that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall be the honorary commissioner-in-chief of the Royal Malaysia Police.
